If stress has been stealing your joy, you’ll want to read this. You’ll learn how to decode what your stress is actually trying to tell you—and how to turn tension into a tool for greater peace.
Do you feel like the holidays knock you flat?
One of my clients came to me years back, stressed and depressed that the holidays were coming up. She told me that she’d wake up with tension before her feet even hit the floor, trying to check all the boxes, make everything perfect, and keep everyone happy. Everyone except herself.
Through coaching, she started to look for the underlying cause – the true root of her stress. What she discoverd was that she was terrified of disappointing people. Of conflict. Of being too much—or not enough. Focusing on other people while ignoring her own yearnings.
One day, she came to me ecstatic. The solution that worked for her? She made a conscious decision to drop the façade, stop overextending, and ask herself: What do I actually want from this season? Then, she focused on that.
The answer wasn’t more plans—it was more presence. That realization flipped the switch in her brain and she was able to step out of her previous patterns, and truly enjoy the moment.
⭐ Try This: When you feel yourself tightening this season—emotionally or physically—pause.
Ask, “What is this stress pointing me to? What do I need right now to feel more like myself?”
Then do one thing—small but intentional—to respond. That could mean stepping outside, closing your eyes for 60 seconds, or saying a graceful “no”.
When you do this regularly, you’ll begin to see your emotions as guidance instead of obstacles. You stop chasing the illusion of control—and start creating real calm.

When you take time to name your deepest yearnings and bring them forward with intention, you don’t just invite connection—you create it. That’s the power of showing up fully.
When you stop ignoring your stress and start listening to it, you reclaim the power to choose how you move through the season.

You don’t have to be at the mercy of holiday stress. In this article, you’ll discover a simple shift that helps you stay grounded and confident—even when everyone else is losing their cool.
Years ago, I watched a coaching client unravel over one family dinner. One passive-aggressive comment from her sister—and she shut down, numb for the whole evening.
It wasn’t that the dinner was stressful. It was that she didn’t know she had options in how to engage.
We worked together on building her emotional agility—recognizing the pattern, breathing through the trigger, and making a conscious choice about how she wanted to show up.
The next time her sister pushed, she smiled, paused, and said, “I’m choosing not to take that on tonight.”
She was calm. Clear. Present.
⭐ Try This: When you feel overwhelmed this season, slow down and name your experience.
Then name one choice you can make right now—something aligned with your values.
Over time this gives you emotional resilience and more influence in relationships.
And a growing trust in your ability to lead your life from the inside out.

Feeling overwhelmed before the season even begins? You’ll learn one small daily practice that restores calm, focus, and your sense of self—no matter how busy life gets.
If you’ve been feeling behind, depleted, or out of sync already—before the season even begins—you’re not alone.
Research shows 62% of people experience elevated stress during the holidays.
But most don’t realize how much of it comes from invisible emotional labor: managing others’ feelings, absorbing expectations, and overextending without boundaries.
The most powerful people we’ve coached aren’t the ones who do it all.
They’re the ones who pause.
Ask.
Choose.
Presence isn’t passive—it’s an act of leadership.
⭐ Try This: Start your morning with this 30-second power check-in:
What’s true for me right now?
What do I need?
What’s one thing I want to feel by tonight?
If you use this daily, you’ll begin to notice more awareness, more centeredness. More you, showing up fully.
This is just the beginning.
